We’re looking to expand our team and are recruiting for several positions. Applications are particularly invited from individual’s with telecoms, lineside, vegetation or drainage experience. Technical and Training Specialists will be required to regularly work away from their designated work location for up to a week at a time.
Brief Description
About the role
As a Technical & Training Specialist, you can expect to be providing expertise to a variety of competence and capability projects, working within groups to scope and specify learning expectations for Network Rail and our industry colleagues, delivering skills and professional training at any of our Training Centres and external locations and coaching individuals to help improve rail performance. You will also evaluate the improved proficiency and capability of the workforce through inspirational, value-for-money delivery that incorporates company behaviours and safety performance.
About the role (External)
- Key Responsibilities: **
- Design, lead and validate the development of training solutions through analysis, design and implementation stages
- Develop the proficiency of employees with the knowledge, practical skill, motivation and subsequent required confidence to operate and maintain the new equipment and technology being introduced to the railway industry
- Deliver technical and non-technical skills training associated with industry change to incorporate new ways of working and behaviours in order to improve safety, performance and engagement
- Provide effective assessment, evaluation and analysis of delegate learning through the learning journey to measure the effectiveness and optimise training delivery methods using a blended learning approach
- Effectively contribute to steering groups and working groups to provide technical guidance
- Create, implement and monitor transition plans to enable smooth transfer of project and programme aims to business as usual
- Support the definition and presentation of technical training/briefings and associated cascades, enabling key messages to be identified and incorporated
Essential
- Proven track record in an operational post, managing real-time incidents
- Demonstrate management capabilities of developing, thinking, achieving and inspiring
- Detailed understanding of either Telecoms or Lineside/Drainage discipline
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to provide technical leadership to appropriate peer group
- Ability to motivate and inspire
- Effectively assessing and evaluating delegate enhanced knowledge and skills to ensure learning
- objectives are met
- Designing, facilitating and delivery of appropriate training interventions
- In depth knowledge of company standards and training processes
- Thorough knowledge of the technical, safety or vocational capability relevant to operational
- discipline of the role
- Appreciation of Instructional Systems Design methodology
Desirable
- Experience of working in complex change orientated environments
- Experience of managing multiple stakeholders
- Qualifications:
o Train-the-Trainer City & Guilds 7331 or equivalent
o D32/D33 or A1/A2 or equivalent assessor training
D34 internal verifier or equivalent
