Telecommunications Technician
Job Summary
Wi-Com Solutions is centrally located in Calgary, Alberta. Wi-Com is in its 13th year and we have operations in Calgary, Lethbridge, Banff, Kelowna and Whistler and have significant growth plans throughout Western Canada. Wi-Com Solutions is an award-winning premier sales, service and rental organization. We specialize in all areas of wireless voice and data communications including two-way radio, BELL mobility, satellite and IoT.
The successful candidate must be able to program, tune, test, install and repair two-way radio communications gear and equipment. Camera and CCTV, structured cabling, VoIP, GPS and IoT experience an asset.
The primary goal is to retain and grow service revenue by communicating brand value to the marketplace.. This is a diverse and hands-on position that requires a significant level of commitment.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
As a Two-Way Radio Technician you will be responsible for:
- Technical – Installations, maintain and provide technical support . Programming and testing of wireless communication products; including diagnose, trouble shooting and repairing analog and digital Radios.
- Maintain and grow existing relationships – Optimize existing client base and working with our team collaboratively.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will be provided with training and mentorship. General skill requirements are:
- Strong interest in learning about a broad spectrum of emerging communication technologies, their role in business
- Outcome focused attitude and outgoing personality – enjoys engaging with people
- Excellent communication & listening skills with previous transferrable skills in electronics/ telecommunication – technical and service focused on customer service
- Have a professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to pay close attention to details
- Service Technician and or related experience
- Post Secondary schooling in wireless communications by an accredited school.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Background checks are required as part of the hiring process
