Telecommunications Technician

Building Automation Systems is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to support new projects, service oriented construction and maintenance divisions. Promote and maintain company policies and maintain safe working environments for all. We are building members of a team for long term employment. BAS is a small/medium sized business that develops and expects employees to grow into leadership roles within the company. We need strong installation experts who can commit to the fast paced commercial demands of today’s construction industry, while prioritizing safety and quality.

Successful candidates will have,

• Manual work to support daily project tasks
• Tip and Ring experience
• Data cabling and termination
• Install or repair of fiber optic electrical infrastructure
• Read and follow blueprints and wire diagrams
• Operate small hand and power tools, test equipment and design techniques
• Understand networking requirements and wiring standards applicable to the telecommunications industry
• Complete work at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
• Understand the electrical wiring codes and best practices
• Participate in the company health and safety program
• Available to work in Calgary and surrounding areas.
• Follow CEC Code.
• Able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Ability to train and coach apprentices

Requirements

• Lift Operating Certificate (Scissor/Boom)
• Fall Arrest Certificate
• WHMIS Certificate
• Commercial experience required
• Previous experience preferred
• Certified and qualified Fiberoptic terminating and testing certification

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
