Standard Broadband operates one of the largest independent networks in Southern Ontario using Microwave and Fiber Optic base transport.

Job Summary

Standard Broadband is currently looking for a Construction/General Labourer who will be working to assist with building our Fibre to the Home network. This position is located primarily, but not limited to, Halton, South Wellington and Dufferin areas.

Responsibilities will include:

• Perform different construction tasks using rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows.
• Lay conduit and placing vaults, pulling fibre cable.

• Completes daily safety inspection of all equipment and tools.

• Provide assistance with general site preparation and clean-up as directed.

• Pick up, transfer, load and unload materials.

• Assist with traffic control as directed.

• Communicate with team members on set up and preparation of on-site work.

• Perform all other duties as required by supervisor/manager.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

• Previous general labour experience in telecom/construction preferred.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

• Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs).

• Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

• Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.

• Landscaping experience an asset.

• Ability to follow instructions.

• Valid Ontario Drivers License (G2 or greater) and own vehicle – this is a MUST have
• Safe Driving record with no suspensions of any kind on your driving abstract

Salary: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
