DGC Contracting Inc. is a Spruce Grove, AB based utility construction company specializing in directional drilling, hydrovac and civil utility construction. We are looking for Labourers for the upcoming construction season.

Labourers will work to safely and efficiently install underground utilities on both public and private property excavating and restoring roadways, boulevards and landscaped areas as required. Operators must be able to work with directional drillers, equipment operators and supervisors to install utilities according to client specifications.

Candidates should be able to provide own transportation to and from DGC Contracting’s shop and/or jobsite locations and be able to work 8-12 hours a day, 6 days a week. Frequent work out of town is anticipated. Accommodations and meal allowance will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Using both hand tools and power tools such as tampers, saws, shovels, rakes, tampers, etc., to assist in directional drilling installations.
• Hand excavation of utilities.
• Participate in daily safety meetings, complete FLHA’s
• Ability to determine grade and install infrastructure to client specifications.
• Read locates for water, gas, and other underground services.
• Work to ensure safe equipment operating guidelines are met.
• Wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required by client, legislation or company policy.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license minimum Class 5, (preference for class 1 or 3) clean abstract, and own vehicle.
• Physically fit and able to bend, kneel, climb, and lift (up to 50 lbs).
• Experience working with shallow utility installations is preferred.
• Firm understanding of underground locates.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

• Overtime pay

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
