We are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor. The responsibilities of this manager will include resource management, performance management, personnel development, financial management, recruiting and selection, technology development and planning. This person will be a highly technical leader that will be responsible for Opto-Mechanical Design as well.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Lead the Mechanical Engineering team through a collaborative design development process.
- Provide mentoring to engineers and coaching for team members
- Work in collaboration with Project Managers, Product Managers, R&D Managers, and other stakeholders to establish prioritization and scope of work for new product development
- Act as the technical Lead Design Engineer and will assign people to projects and monitors their progress
- Responsible for the planning and execution of goal setting, performance reviews, salary reviews, the development of promotion plans, and the creation of and updates to job responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of methods to facilitate employee growth and development.
- Assist in the preparation and management of the engineering budget for the Mechanical Group, including development costs, staff planning and capital equipment purchases.
- Partner closely with Product Development, Technology Development, and Technical Leadership
- Assist in the research, planning and development of emerging technologies and provide direction for future development.
- Serve as a technical consultant to the development teams and take an active role in mentoring, developing, and training engineers.
- Establish, track and complete ISO Department Goals appropriate for the group
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Previous experience managing and leading Mechanical Design projects
- Previous leadership experience
- Experience with mechanical principles and custom design for manufacturing
- Highly technical expertise in DFM
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with engineers and non-engineers alike, resolving issues, developing strategies and executing plans
- Demonstrated mature judgment, and a solid understanding of manufacturing and marketing requirements
