The Project Manager I provides support to customers, clients, vendors, and other related operational support to client projects throughout all phases of project management (initiation through closing). He or she must have a combination of skills including conflict resolution, influencing, leadership, decision making, and emotional intelligence.
Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within scope, and within budget as appropriate. This includes contacting resources and coordinating efforts of team members as well as third party contractors or consultants. Sets deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Responsible for overseeing quality control throughout the project’s life cycle. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. The Project Manager I will have technical savvy in order to communicate effectively and professionally with the clients, customer, field technicians, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Manager I is responsibility to define process, identify gaps, mitigate risks and recommend improvements.
The Project Manager I is required to hold Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, and the ability to fulfill the CAPM Maintenance requirements, which involves re-testing every 3 years.
The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Once obtained, this certification must be retained through the completion of required PDU in a timely manner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget, as appropriate.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Maintains project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Plan, organize and facilitate client calls to ensure clients are properly updated on project activity.
- Plan, organize and facilitate project conference calls involving stakeholders for implementation through all phases of the project.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Evaluation and solution of potential field operations set-backs, shipping delays and other service affecting operatives to ensure the lowest impact to the project schedule and cost.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation such as spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, meeting minutes, and lessons learned.
- Continually evaluate and implement opportunities for process improvement.
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Prepares reports for project team on status of services provided for specific technology projects.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations in addition of tracking changes and project reports.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills.
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis, as appropriate.
- Assist the Service Delivery Manager in conducting project lessons learned and create a preliminary recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Provides project and reporting to the Service Delivery Manager for review for to submission to clients for project closure and acceptance.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
CAPM certification is required, PMP certification is preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project and all Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Ability to assume responsibility, conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

Familiarity with related industry specifications and standards.
PREFERRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2-5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development, execution, customer relations preferably within the telecommunications field.
- Proven working experience in project management.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Proficient with provisioning and telecommunications implementation.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $46,000.00 – $69,000.00 per year
