Job Tracks Caribbean is currently seeking an experienced Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician. Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technicians are responsible for carrying out monitoring operations, and servicing servers, networks,s and telecommunication equipment in data centers and other organizations. They monitor data center infrastructure, servers, and computer networks for issues from a centralized location. Also known as network operations center technicians, Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technicians install and maintain network infrastructure, collect network performance data, and resolve network issues in collaboration with field technicians and IT teams. They work at organizations’ centralized network operations or data centers.

Responsibilities of the Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician:

  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician collaborating with the IT team on the development and maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Providing technical end-user support, performing troubleshooting, and resolving network issues.
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician maintaining internet domains and enhancing intranet performance.
  • Running diagnostic tests on the communication between computers, routers, modems, and servers.
  • Installing, configuring, and updating networking accessories for end-users.
  • Optimizing server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in network traffic.
  • Developing data security, backup, archiving, and retrieval procedures.
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technicians need to train junior IT staff and provide on-site field technicians with remote technical support.
  • Enhancing network security, as well as documenting network processes, repairs, and cabling layouts.
  • Keeping informed of advancements in network infrastructure and technologies.

  • 6 Month contract
  • Possibility of conversion to a full-time employee

  • Day Shift 8am-5pm

Qualifications of Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician Position:

  • A Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician must have an associate’s Degree (or higher) -OR- 2+ years of professional work experience -OR- current military service, or prior military service with an honorable discharge.
  • 1+ years of computer applications experience with a strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician must follow the TDS attendance guidelines in order to meet TDS’ business needs including but not limited to our obligations to our customers and to our customers’ needs
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician must have 2+ years of telecommunications or customer service experience in a trouble resolution environment is preferred.
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician’s ability to work mandatory overtime during peak periods of the year.
  • Thorough understanding of the Residential/Business order process.
  • Willingness to work and make decisions in a rapidly changing and uncertain environment.
  • Training in Data, Voice, or Video Network Technologies is a plus.
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technicians need good technical and analytical skills are necessary.
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician able to Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Good client and vendor relations skills and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners, and staff.
  • Cable Fiber Telecommunications NOC Technician’s ability to adapt quickly to change and prioritize work activities in response to changes, challenges, or demands.
