Role Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual with a passion for PC building and configuration to embark on a level 3 IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professional apprenticeship. Delivered through Swansea ITEC Digital, this course will enable the learner to apply professional methodologies whilst working as a key member of a growing production team.
As a Production IT Apprentice, you will be based in our Manufacturing Facility in Ystrad Mynach and report to the Production Manager. Your primary role will be assembling PCs and Servers. In time, and following a period of effective formal and on the job training, there will be a full time job opportunity to form part of the technical assurance function, responsible for providing assurance over the configuration and build of our PC and server manufacturing business.
Responsibilities include:
- Be a productive and committed member of the PC and server production team.
- Build experience and technical knowledge to be able to ensure the configuration and build quality of our PC and servers meet the required specification to satisfy customer requirements.
- Develop expertise in the configuration of BIOS settings and the installation of software applications and latest patches.
- Develop troubleshooting skills to be able to identify system failures.
- Be passionate about the build quality of devices and be willing to identify and communicate any problems in the build process.
- Ensuring all system images are updated prior to loading onto devices
- Develop the communication skills and confidence in liaising with customers to understand their requirements and/or solve technical issues.

Essential
- Possess genuine passion for PC building and configuration.

Desirable
- Understanding of Windows deployment techniques.
- Understanding Linux operating systems.

Education/Qualifications/Specific training
Essential
