Alstom is proud to be part of the consortium that will deliver the multibillion-dollar On-Corrido Works Project that will transform collective mobility in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas and will contribute to decarbonization. Alstom’s scope is anticipated to include the supply of new electric locomotives, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, and much more.

Alstom is looking to hire a Talent Business Partner to ensure that we develop the best team with the best talent to deliver this historical project and that we develop our people capability to sustain our future growth across the Americas.

Located in Toronto, the Talent Business Partner reports to the Alstom Americas Head of Talent Management and functionally to the Toronto HR Manager. The Talent Business Partner works in direct partnership with both the business and the HR team.

The Talent Business Partner will be responsible to:

  • Map project’s people capability risks and opportunities (current and future) and build the talent strategy accordingly
  • Develop and run talent and learning & development solutions to address people capability challenges
  • Co-create the talent strategy with project’s stakeholders and deliver accordingly
  • Work with the project’s leadership team and third parties to constantly improve the project’s leadership as per Alstom values of Agility, Inclusiveness and Responsibility
  • Monitor employees’ life cycle on the project to maintain and improve the project’s human performance. Deploy solutions accordingly.
  • Develop and run an on-boarding program to the project
  • Build relations with universities and schools to generate a talent pipeline and upskilling capacity
  • Actively contribute to and influence the employees’ engagement
  • Liaise with Alstom Talent Teams to find the right talents and to leverage local Alstom talent programs
  • Contribute to Alstom Americas Talent Team in addressing Americas’ talent challenges

Education Prerequisites

  • Mandatory:
    • University degree with specialization in human resources management or business studies
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s in business Administration or Equivalent
    • Business operational experience
    • Background / Certification in Organizational Development/Behavioral studies/Coaching / Business analysis

Experience Prerequisites

  • At least 10 years of experience of combining Talent Management and HR Business Partnering related positions in a large multi-national company
  • Proven and successful experience leading learning & development and human performance initiatives from business needs analysis to learning activities delivery
  • Fluent in the English language, written and spoken. French is a plus
  • Multicultural work experience in an international and matrix organization
  • Experience of HR operational aspects (HR Business Partnering/Talent Management/Talent Development role for a large scope/regional level)
