IT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR – NOC
We are looking for a an Associate IT System Administrator /NOC Technician to help us out in the Network Operations Center (NOC). The NOC monitors the IT Infrastructure for issues and outages and alerts/assists other teams to reduce the time for resolution.

Job Description – Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician
The NOC technician will provide the first line of support as an integral part of a Global Enterprise Network Operations Center. Utilizing various toolsets, the NOC technician will oversee proactive monitoring and support of the network infrastructure. This includes but not limited to a diverse range of systems; network devices; applications; services; servers; and WAN / LAN / VSAT availability.
NOC technicians are responsible for carrying out monitoring operations, while frequently interacting with various support teams. Importantly, NOC technicians must develop a solid understanding of products and processes. As you grow in this role, you must be keen to adapt, learn, and able to use your experience and initiative to wrestle a broad range of problems and contribute to the growing success of the Global NOC.
Daily duties and key responsibilities:
- Act as the primary interface to business users for all initial IT support issues.
- Record and triage incoming system alert notifications, and inbound customer calls, and email requests.
- Trouble ticket generation, management, response and escalations.
- Deployment and maintenance of network monitoring, analysis and reporting tools
- Basic troubleshooting and fault analysis resolution, and/or escalation of software, application, hardware, security, and network issues.
- Support Add/Change/Deletes of configuration changes via the KBR change control management systems and processes.
- Execute periodic performance customer contact reports
- Extend personal capabilities through local training, reading, and technical project work
- Participate in a 24x7x365 work rotation.
Qualification Requirements and Profile:
- Education: High School diploma required; advanced technical degrees preferred.
- Experience Level: Previous Helpdesk/Network/NOC/SOC experience preferred. Experience with ScienceLogic required.
- Certifications: Network+, Security+, certified or equivalent level of knowledge and must
- obtain ITIL (within six months)
- Special Requirements: Must be a US citizen and able to participate in some after-hours work as needed.
Skills Summary:
- Must be able to analyze problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis while working to resolve issues through resolution.
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Basic understanding level of virtualization technology as well as ability to use Microsoft Office products. Linux/UNIX skills ideal but not essential.
- Basic level of experience of working on various types of network equipment in an ISP environment, a large NOC or other such company associated with networking.
- Self-motivator and clear communicator (written and verbal).
- Capable of prioritizing and managing own workload.
- Capable of working/using own initiative with minimal supervision.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 – $41.00 per hour
