IT Project Manager

Our top client is growing like crazy and adding to their team. We are looking for a IT Project Manager with IS infrastructure and IS Security

LOCATION: 77002, Houston, TX

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday with a couple of days a week working remotely

PAY: The range is from $60/hr to $63/hr

DETAILS: This is a contract position of 4 months with the possibility of extension.

Job Description:

• Responsible for coordination and completion of large scale and more complex projects Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Negotiates changes in scope, budget or calendar with Project Owner and/or management.
• Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
• Provides guidance to other project managers. May act as a Program Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the information technology department.
• Oversees all aspects of projects.
• Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project.
• Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.
• Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Desired PM/technical experience: IS infrastructure and IS Security including:

• Networking/telephony technology, application/system rationalization, compute and storage, IS/Cyber security constructs.
• Field network Infrastructure knowledge and experience including technologies such as VSAT, Radio, Mobile communications etc.

Decision Making:

• Makes decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues and without formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to interpret policy

Duties:

Job Functions:

• Attend construction kick-off meetings and resource meetings with our business partners.
• Manage overall business expectations and the project schedules.
• Engage Telecom vendors such as Lumen and Nexxtgen for scopes of work, quotes and coordinate field visits.
• First point of contact for issues that may arise such as procurement or scheduling issues.
• Create work packages for third party vendors.
• Set up meeting with team members to ensure all pre-commissioning activities are fully understood.
• Manage the Project Teams (Engineers, Network Designers, Config Designer, Warehouse Coordinator).
