Network Strategy and Engineering provide International connectivity, voice, data and messaging services to support local markets, enterprise and wholesale carrier customers, delivering 1.500+ projects per year to fulfil the needs of 140 million customers using our Mobile, Fixed, TV and International Connectivity Services. The team are responsible for all Engineering activities including the architecture, planning, design, testing, delivery, and lifecycle management of the associated Network infrastructure.

What will you be doing?

The Network Planning and Business Partnership (NPBP) team is responsible for shaping the Network Evolution Plan, prepare and manage the UK Network 1-3-year budget submission ensuring alignment with Group and Local market requirements. The team also act as the SPOC for managing KPI reporting on Network rollout status.

You will support the preparation and approval of the annual DB/Long Range Plan and in-year plan changes across the Engineering Domains. You will engage with the team in the prioritization of the budget plan to meet the financial envelope, ensuring all cross-domain dependencies are properly captured and priorities are validated against the Tech2025 Strategy and market demand.

You will be responsible of managing the Network Strategy and Engineering budget mobilisation through the UK Business Case approval governance process, together with budget execution and reporting, and supports the submission of KPIs into the Group reporting tool.


Who are we looking for?

  • We are looking for someone with a financial & planning mind-set to work to ensure the budget for UK market network investments and plans are efficiently submitted on time. This role requires commercial business acumen and knowledge of the overall telecoms market, who is passionate about technology, and high experience in budget planning (capex & opex).
  • Technical understanding of Mobile & Fixed Networks and supporting architecture.
  • Strong Network Planning Background including experience of creation of both short range and long range Network Investment Plans and Cost Modelling.
  • Strong numerical ability, an excellent capacity to analyse data and numbers (both technical KPIs and Financial/Budgetary information).
  • Computer skills, from data mining to creating reports and spreadsheets, use computer programs for a large proportion of the work.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and influence skills. Ability to agree targets vs. achievements across senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of being well organized, self-motivated, adaptive/flexible and able to perform under pressure in a highly dynamic organization.
