Senior Accountant

Position has joint responsibilities with Financial Services and Credit/Collections within the America’s hub (United States, Canada and Mexico)

Credit/Collections

• Investigates and analyses the creditworthiness of prospective customers and approves the credit applications within established guidelines and instructions
• Liaises with Sales (and other departments) to solve credit problems
• Responsible (in co-operation with Sales) for debt collections and negotiating terms of payment on overdue accounts
• Minimizes outstanding balances (the level of due customer invoices), so that accounts receivables can be transformed into cash
• Analyses credit risks and maintains an up-to-date customer credit limit and credit risk rating
• Identifies bad debts and suggests provisions thereof
• Ensures that the credit control and collection activities are done in compliance with governmental regulations and corporate policies

Financial Services/Accounts Receivable

• Cash management tasks to include timely booking of customer payments to corresponding account balances
• Perform customer account and payment reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner
• Email and phone contact with customers
• Prepare aging reports at month end
• New customer set up
• Revenue analysis at month end
