Primary Talent Partners has a 6 month contract opportunity for a Telecommunications Design Engineer with a client of ours in the Telecommunications business.
Hybrid: 3 days office/2 days remote

An in-depth knowledge of construction drawing management and the ability to understand jurisdictional requirements with a concentrated focus on power and fiber construction design. Responsible for the management and quality of A&E related deliverables inclusive of power and fiber design documentation. This includes the managing of the construction drawing and/or power and fiber design product for multiple customers according to mutually agreed upon scopes of work, project timeline, policies, jurisdictional requirements, and procedures. Responsible for the ordering, forecasting, reviewing, redlining, quality assurance, and actualization of all construction drawing and/or power and fiber design tasks created for collocations and amendments. Communication throughout the project is expected to ensure A&E deliverables are completed in accordance with customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to read and understand A&E related documents including but not limited to construction drawings, power and fiber related documents, surveys and jurisdictional requirement details.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to drive changes when needed especially in times of high volumes of work to deadlines and with accuracy
- Hold vendors accountable to cycle times, work quality, agreed upon deliverables and drive to resolution of design issues as they arise.
- Ability to communicate to customers and jurisdictions in a customer service manner with a strong problem solving approach
- Drive A&E document production by communicating requirements for effective construction drawing completion. Responsibilities include managing the ordering of A&E site walks, power and fiber related scope, and construction drawings from our vendors, manage drawing reviews (internal/external), manage changes/revisions, and ensure completed construction drawings match scope of work and meet jurisdictional requirements.
- Complete reviews on all applicable A&E documentation to ensure any/all redlines are incorporated as applicable inclusive of jurisdictional needs.
- Identify, communicate and drive jurisdictional approval requirements for installations as project scope defines.
- Communicate scope of work changes to appropriate properties throughout the A&E related process, inclusive of ground space placement (internal/external).
- Communicate project costs and any issues that could impact project financials or timelines, including out of scope reimbursables.
- Participate in internal & external kick off as needed, and interact with carrier representative to appropriately execute the construction drawing tasks.
- Ensure A&E deliverables are completed according to mutually agreed upon timelines and in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Input Manage and maintain all forecasts for all applicable A&E related tasks
- Required to use the business systems for all task flow activity and ensure updated consistently.
- Upload/send A&E deliverables to appropriate customer databases as required.
- A&E site walk coordination, as needed.
- Facilitate and identify template changes and assist standards team when input is needed.
- Function as main point of contact for any A&E items.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Engineering Background preferred
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- Two (2) to four (4) years of A&E experience in telecom
- Power and fiber construction management experience preferred
- Project management experience
- Strong ability to read and understand engineered drawings
Other Skills/Abilities
- Site acquisition experience a plus
- Preferred knowledge of telecommunications/wireless project management, asset management and / or site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting process
- Ability to manage multiple vendors / projects
- Strong negotiation and organizational skills
- Ability to direct the diagnosis of workflow problems, critical paths and institute remedies
- Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to clearly communicate across multiple service groups to both internal and external customers
Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions 90% of the time. Required travel to project sites with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditions 10% of the time.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour
