The Quality Control Inspector will enforce quality, safety, and sanitation regulations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your prior experience or familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) will ensure your success in this dynamic role. You will be responsible for inspecting, sorting, sampling, weighing raw materials or processed product checking for defects and deviations from specifications.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Under supervision, performs routine visual, functional, and mechanical/dimensional inspection and testing of a variety of products from receiving through final inspection.
- Performs inspections using a variety of equipment i.e. Optical Comparator, optical CMM, and Hardness Testers, and other specialty testing equipment used in product acceptance.
- Develops an advanced knowledge of the optical CMM with the ability to program and use these functions on a routine basis.
- Uses computerized data collection equipment and software to record inspection data and generate process capability and other SPC charts.
- Prepares Certificates of Conformance for products inspected.
- Performs First Article Inspections
- Conducts special non-routine inspections and special project activities for the Quality Manager.
- also perform other duties to support the ISO: 9001 2015 quality system including, but not limited to: calibration and support of corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Analyze and investigate related specifications, process, and work operation to detect, eliminate, and prevent recurrence of potential causes of non-conforming product
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 year working with inspection techniques & instruments.
- Certification(s) from ASQ preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of inspection techniques and a wide variety of precision inspection instruments, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical measuring equipment, and hardness testers.
- Must be able to interpret blueprints and have a solid working knowledge of GD&T.
- Good knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) theory and charts.
- Good computer knowledge and use of Excel, Outlook, and Word a must.
- Working with various specialty Quality software applications a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills
