Our Software Systems Engineering team ensures that our customers have the software systems they need for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and deliver software systems modifications as well as enhancements of new products. We oversee product development at all stages: planning, designing, developing and testing operating systems, compilers, routers, utilities, databases, embedded management and control devices, plus internet-related tools.

What You’ll Achieve

As a Telecoms Architect you will create products and solutions catering for the worldwide telecommunications market, which is exploding with new and exciting opportunities offered by new developments such as 5G, Internet of Things, and virtualized radio access networks (O-RANs). You will work with geographically dispersed teams and research groups on telco innovation projects. We are open to candidates from all over for this role to work remotely.

You will:

• Provide technology consultation for customers and our internal engineering teams.
• Be an architect and developer, helping to design Dell Technologies’ suite of Telco software components.
• Support opportunity identification and anchor to proof concept and innovation programs.
• Ensure consistent high standards across in-house design, contracted design work, third-party partnerships, and third party solutions, driving solutions aligned with Telco industry standards such as O-RAN Alliance, 3GPP, ETSI NFV / ZSM, TIP and ONAP.
• Be a coordinator at the center of many internal and external collaborations.

Essential Requirements

• Subject matter expert on Telco Transformation with a minimum 8 years of working experience in Enterprise or Telecom business segments and hands-on experience of RAN virtualization, NFV, SDN, Kubernetes and Automation for 5G RAN and Core using a Cloud Native approach and the associated Security Framework.
• Experience in large scale solution creation, technology consulting, enterprise architecture, product architecture and design.
• Deep understanding of leveraging microservices-based architecture and agility in bringing new offerings and creating differentiated experience.
• Ability to play an advisory role to customers by providing solution & technology consultancy including problem definition, discovery, product evaluation, solution recommendation and architecture definition.
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment with excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation.
• Experience in various API technologies, e.g. REST (JSON, HTTP), gRPC (Protocol Buffers, HTTP/2) and GraphQL; it is important to have an understanding of the pros and cons of the various API technologies and which is the best option to apply in a particular circumstances.
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related disciplines. However, exceptional candidates without college degrees who may have long industry experience and can demonstrate their skills & abilities will also be considered.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience of VP to CxO level engagement with Tier 1 Telecom Operators.
• Knowledge of distributed systems architecture, design, and implementation.
• Knowledge of Modern software development processes including test-driven development, DevOps models, continuous integration, continuous testing, agile development.
