Position Summary:

The Assembler is responsible for various functions required in the assembly of Fiber Optic products. This involves following written procedures / work instructions, quality standards and health and safety requirements. Must to be able to quickly grasp information and direction in order to learn various functions. The assembler must be willing to learn various functions allowing for flexibility in movement when required to eliminate bottlenecks in production. Must be a team player, willing to work overtime when requested and or different working hours.

Typical Duties:

· Responsible for following procedures, guidelines and quality standards

· Ensure all product is properly labeled and paperwork is properly completed

· Excellent hand and eye coordination along with good dexterity

· Attention to detail is required when assembling patchcords to ensure no mix-ups

· Work area must be kept clean and well organized, Work area must be clean when leaving with all work clearly identified.

· At the station and ready to work based on the agreed time

· Work different hours / shifts if required

· Able to work overtime when requested

· Work will vary depending on the area / function the assembler is working in – Fiber measurement & cutting, Termination (connectorization), polishing & testing, Extension Ratio Measurement (ER), Final Inspection & Packaging

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent work Experience in manufacturing

Experience:

  • Experience in Fiber Optics is an Asset
  • Experience in manufacturing that requires good dexterity, hand and eye coordination.

Skills:

  • Ability to quickly learn various functions
  • Excellent dexterity, hand and eye coordination
  • Technical aptitude
  • Works well in a team environment or independently
  • Effective English communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with various aspect in the assembly of Patchcords
  • Able to work different hours / shifts if required and or overtime
  • Able to work under stress in a fast pace environment
