The successful candidate for Sales Account Support Specialist will desire to be a direct touch sales person as part of their career goals. The person must have proficiency in general sales, knowledge of sales processes, and telecommunications and Information Technology product knowledge. The Sales Account Support Specialist, in conjunction with the Specialty Sales Manager(s) that they support, will be responsible for winning new business, generating and maximizing revenue through direct selling of TELUS services to customers.

Responsibilities:
Directly support the Specialty Sales Manager(s) that you are aligned too, this will include sharing their sales target(s), and assisting with all sales-related matters on a day-to-day basis to ensure the Specialty Sales Manager(s) is successful

Directly managing deals at and below a specific dollar threshold so that the Specialty Sales Manager(s) that you support can spend their time on the higher value/more complex deals

On behalf of the Specialty Sales Manager(s) directly manage a group of accounts including the ability to close new business and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.

Prepare proposals, quotations, contracts, and supporting documentation for the breadth of products and services offered by TELUS for the Specialty Sales Manager(s) that you support

Engage, and work with, the greater account and solution teams to produce solutions, quotations and proposals on behalf of the Specialty Sales Manager(s)

Develop an understanding of the products and services that TELUS provides and effectively demonstrate to our clients how these products and services can provide value to them

Establish effective relationships with Client stakeholders at the purchasing, operations, IT level and fulfillment levels

Handling and forwarding of technical and operations questions or issues that may arise during a sales pursuit, and managing appropriate customer expectations throughout the sales cycle.

Demonstrate continuous focus on moving an opportunity through the sales cycle

Information Management – understanding of requirements gathering and qualifying opportunities

Industry Knowledge – basic knowledge and application of telecommunications and IT industries

Resources Management – effectively structures work, plan activities and takes responsibility to meet business goals

Business Acumen – basic understanding of account goals and ability to apply concepts to drive short and long term goals aligned with account plans

Required Skills & Abilities:
Motivation – a highly motivated, engaging, and able to work effectively within a team environment. A quick and eager learner with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.

Communication Skills – High level of skill in verbal and written communications including professional and confident telephone skills

Customer Focus – excellent customer skills and presence as demonstrated by a customer-focused attitude

Analytical skills – ability to assess a customer’s business problem and recommend appropriate solutions

Computer Skills – Knowledge of MS office including word, advanced power-point, excel. Ability to pick up additional systems and computer skills

Negotiation and Conflict Resolution – ability to negotiate challenging situations with stakeholders

Communication – capable of facilitating conference calls and handling sales activities over the phone. Fosters stability during change by ensuring open and ongoing communication.

Required Professional Designation/Certification:
Post secondary education preferred.

Required Experience:
Minimum 3 years corporate sales (inside/outside) experience preferably in telecommunications or IT solution sales

Bilingual French & English an asset
