Information & Instructional Technology Services (IITS) provides the technological vision and leadership for the development and implementation of information systems, processes, and associated technology to support the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus’ academic mission and administrative operation. Your opportunity:
As a Network Analyst, you will support the fundamental underpinnings of one of the most critical IT services, networking. You will be the responsible for day to day operations while supporting and monitoring the campus wired and wireless infrastructure. Working closely with the networking team, while reporting to the Manager, Networking and Telecommunications, you will be responsible for providing on-site troubleshooting and diagnostics, creating documentation, conducting wireless surveys, recommending and assisting with implementation of changes to the network infrastructure. Your proven focus on solutions, and customer service mindset, will allow you to own the wired and wireless client experience on campus, and be an instrumental part of the IITS, Networking Team, supporting mission critical connectivity services.

Your responsibilities will include:
Configuring network devices

Overseeing the daily operations of networks services

Troubleshooting networking connectivity issues for end-users

Developing and implementing contingency plans for network related software/hardware failures

Troubleshooting network performance issues

Creating complex and technical documentation and user support guides (Network topology diagrams, standard operating procedures, etc)

Liaising with Facilities Management, Design and Construction Management, and Capital Projects staff on network requirements

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 4 years of related experience supporting a high-volume, client-centric, heterogeneous network environment

Demonstrated experience managing vendors, tier-3 escalation and manufacturer support tickets

Strong experience troubleshooting of wireless issues across a range of endpoints, including MacOS, Windows, Android, iOS, and others

Familiarity with layer2 and 3 network protocols, including STP, IPv4, IPv6, ISIS, OSPF, BGP, and others

Demonstrated ability to review and write technical documentation and create diagrams

Knowledge of the command line interface for network equipment

Ability to use tools like Windows/Powershell, Linux/Bash, or python for task automation

Must have communication skills; both verbally and in writing. Must be able to communicate technical requirements to vendors and contractors.

Must have initiative to address legacy issues, develop new ideas, participate in projects as a subject matter expert, and work both independently and as a member of a team.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 – $71,842 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $91,875. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
