Computer Teacher / Part Time

General Purpose of the position

• The main responsibility of a teacher is to help students understand computer skills. Computer Teacher duties will range from the preparation of course work, planning of classes and the marking of work handed in. On top of this Computer Teacher will also have to arrange any extracurricular activities and set targets for and will be responsible for the safety of pupils during your lessons.
• Work effectively with the Education Coordinator and Project Director in evaluating the educational plans and discussing the development of educational process and oversee the implementation of computer and other teacher-led classes.

Responsibility of the Position

• Work effectively with the Education Coordinator in evaluating the educational plans and discussing the development of the plan.
• Identifying the challenges that they face and finding solutions to overcome these challenges in collaboration with the Education Coordinator.
• Coordinating effectively with the Education Coordinator to raise the quality of the JRS educational services.
• To follow-up with the admin if there are problems or barriers facing students in completing their studies If admins have any information regarding a student, the teacher must be informed for a rapid intervention.
• In collaboration with the Education Coordinator, attend workshops and internal training sessions in order to improve the team’s performance.
• Assist in the monitoring and evaluating of the course and the student experience.
• Provide regular feedback to project director and Education Coordinator, including delivering mid-term and final course evaluations.
• Identify curriculum needs and request learning tools (e.g. articles, training manuals, media, video clips) from the Education Coordinator.

Typical duties include:

• Advising student on learning and teaching issues.
• Organizing and delivering classroom lectures to students.
• Evaluating a students’ class work and assignments.
• Preparing classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments.
• Recording and maintain accurate student attendance records and grades.
• Classroom management.
• Developing English lesson plans in line with the Curriculum.
• Maintaining discipline in the classroom.
• Creating a vibrant teaching atmosphere.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or IT (MA preferred).
2. Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English (Arabic a strong asset).
3. Experience In teaching in emergency contexts.
4. Ability to balance multiple responsibilities professionally, quickly, and calmly.
5. Understanding of forced migration and refugee issues.
