Labourer – Telecom

Labourer – Shallow Utility Workers specialize in building/Installing underground infrastructure for shallow utilities. They hand expose utilities, tie in conduits, install utility service vaults and pedestals.

They are required to perform all labour tasks as instructed by a supervisor. This job will be based out of

Calgary, AB.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Hand digging with shovels, raking, sweeping
• Conduit tie-ins
• Spotting for backhoes, excavators
• Setting/installing utility vaults and pedestals
• Backfill and compact utility excavations
• Landscaping
• Driving pick-up trucks and towing trailers
• Maintenance and inspections of equipment

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to tow large trailers, load and unload back up trailers and drive large equipment in congested areas
• Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere
• Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
• Ability to perform strenuous tasks with your hands
• Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, adjust to changing work schedule, scope of work requirements, including out of town etc.

Qualifications:

• 2 years experience *Preferred
• Valid class 5 drivers license and accompanying drivers abstract
• CSTS 2020
