The Structured Cabling Technician will be responsible for the installation of structured cabling of commercial buildings with a professional approach to customer satisfaction. We are looking for a self-starter with a passion for technology and is comfortable working independently and as part of a team, in a collaborative, goal-oriented atmosphere. You have a reputation for being reliable, customer-focused and approach your daily work in an efficient and highly organized manner.
This position will be based out of Calgary and the surrounding area.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation of structured cabling meeting manufactures standards (cat6,6A)
  • Labelling of cables according to defined standards
  • Responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of yourself and customers in an environmentally friendly manner while performing work
  • Ensuring test results are properly downloaded into the test equipment with the proper identification
  • Ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded with a high level of service and handled professionally
  • Responsible for completing detailed and accurate paperwork
  • Communicate accurate details regarding the progress of installation to site lead
  • Accountable for ensuring all prepared time sheets and expense reports are accurate and submitted on time
  • Follow and maintain all safety policies, procedures throughout the job and project and bring forth any recommendations; filling out JSA’s and attend safety meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years’ structured network cabling and testing experience
  • Diploma in cabling/telecommunication an asset
  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (evenings, weekends & statutory holidays), based on business need
  • Read and interpret published work plans for installation purposes
  • Current CSTS and Working at Heights and Fall Arrest Certification an asset
  • Must be able to successfully complete a Criminal background check
  • Customer focused both internally and externally; ability to handle both favorable and unfavorable customers; excellent verbal and written communication
  • Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety training requirements to maintain a successful safety record
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and frequent demanding deadlines
  • Ability to self-start and stay on task with minimal supervision; identify problems and situations and implement solutions or escalate as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency
  • Professional, trustworthy, and reliable with a strong attention to detail
