Project Role:
Providing engineering support for existing and proposed microwave, SONET and Packet radio and land mobile radio infrastructure. Candidate will likely also be involved with planning and deployment of a private LTE network.

Top Skills Needed:
-Ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 Years of Experience: Completing microwave path studies, coordinating frequencies, obtaining FCC licenses, obtaining FAA determinations, creating technical specifications, purchasing materials

Top Nice to Have Skills:
Land mobile radio (LMR) experience, LTE experience, DC power systems/batteries

Work Schedule: 7:00-3:30 or 8:00-4:30

Client owns and operates an internal microwave network consisting of about 200 microwave sites. Client IT Telecommunications TNS (Transport Network Services) group provides the engineering support for all aspects of developing and maintaining each microwave site including, but not limited to, path studies, site acquisition, environmental and construction permitting, procurement (tower, foundation, contractors, radio, antennas, waveguide, accessories, building, generator, fuel tank, DC, etc), site prep, FAA determination, FCC licensing, path survey, etc. Our current microwave radio standard is the Nokia Wavence configured for N+0 multichannel operation in either the 6HGz or 11GHz bands.

Scope of Work:
Client is attempting to augment its engineering staff with personnel who can provide engineering support for client existing and proposed microwave infrastructure. Tasks will include working with more senior team members to:
1) Complete microwave path studies,
2) Coordinate frequencies, obtain FCC licenses, and FAA determinations,
3) Create technical specifications and/or purchase all associated material,
4) Create installation, testing, and cutover instructions,
5) Provide engineering support as needed for tower studies, site acquisition, site prep, obtaining various permits, contractor procurement, and path surveys,
6) Attend onsite meetings as necessary.
Assigned projects will include one or all of the following: radio upgrades, tower replacements, building replacements, DC system replacements, and “green field” site development and installation. The majority of these projects will be located in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York but could also include our client West locations in and around Utah.

Qualifications:
Personnel working on Client microwave projects must have 3 to 5 years of experience and working knowledge of the following:
1) Telecommunications engineering concepts, fundamentals, and theory for SONET and packet licensed multi-channel microwave systems
2) Telecommunications site build-out (including installation of towers/monopoles, buildings, antennas, waveguide, generators, etc.)
3) DC power systems (-48VDC)
4) Microsoft Office Products Visio, Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook
5) Performing microwave path profile studies using Pathloss or equivalent.
