Telecommunications Engineer

A telecommunications company is looking for an Experienced Telecommunications Engineer located in the Winchester VA area. This candidate will be be responsible for providing remote and onsite support in design, implementation and support for diverse telecommunication systems, wireless technology systems. This is a fast paced position with a company that promotes and encourages professional development and growth.This position is full-time Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with compensation starting at $52,000 a year and is based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure systems according to specifications
• Work with field technicians to install physical wiring, cabinets, hardware, and equipment to support systems designs
• Prepare equipment for the field by inventorying, configuring, and documenting configuration
• Verify and test phones, phone systems, and other systems to be functional to defined scenarios and system designs
• Engineer and administer operational networks, workstation and servers to support end users
• Troubleshoot and remediate operational outages and issues at a Tier 2/3 level. Document resolution, escalation, or follow up in helpdesk system
• Skills

• Excellent documentation skills
• Knowledge and configuration of Linux based systems, Microsoft AD, Azure AD, and other Microsoft technologies to industry best standards
• Knowledge and configuration of networking technologies such as VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, etc.
• Knowledge of VOIP protocols and systems such as SBCs, VOIP Phones, Phone systems, SIP, RTP, etc.
• Ability to provide technical leadership as well as embrace sharing technical ideas to further better the team
• Communicate with professionalism with customers and coworkers

The ideal candidate will have an IT focused Bachelors (BS) degree or an associates with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Any IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or other industry IT certifications are also preferred.

This position does require regular travel for work but the company provides a company vehicle, and an allowance for food and hotels.

Must be willing to commute to Winchester VA as there is no option to work remote.
