What will you be doing?

As a Lead Fibre Installation Engineer, you will install our outstanding superfast full fibre broadband into the homes of our customers. Utilising Hyperoptic equipment you will ensure that the customer experience during installation is of the highest standard and excellent in every way ensuring that customers can connect as soon as they can so that they can utilise our excellent service

  • Delivering an excellent Fibre to the home (FTTH) experience to our customers with the installation methods agreed prior to works commencing and is fully active and self-certifying your own work before signing off as complete.
  • Installation & servicing of our fibre network infrastructure equipment, including working overhead and underground PIA networks, signal testing using testers provided on our internal and external equipment,
  • “Home Safe” – Ensuring Health & Safety is a priority when working onsite, taking into consideration your own safety, members of the public and our customers.
  • The ability to carryout onsite surveys for new customers & locations along with preparing a detailed survey report, identifying and suggesting ways we can improve the network and our procedures.
  • Team working is an important part of working as a Hyperoptic engineer and you will need to build good working relationships across the business
  • Maintain company vehicle & tooling for the job provided and ensure they are kept organised and stored safely.

What are we looking for?

  • Customer service experience in a service environment
  • Knowledge of overhead and underground fibre network installation and maintenance
  • Working at Height including ladder, pole and tower climbing
  • Fibre Splicing
  • CAT 5e Terminations
  • Fault finding & Rectification
  • Experience in Telecommunications business
  • OTDR and other Fibre Testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA)
  • Experience in the use of hand tools and power tools
