MANDAT/JOB OBJECTIVE:
The job consists of installing and commissioning monitoring systems throughout construction sites.

IMMEDIATE LEADER:
Field Service Manager

Responsibilities:


Field Engineering 50%

§ Coordinate on-site activities (PODC):

ü plan sequence of work;

ü organize resources;

ü direct/lead field crews;

ü control resources, costs, timelines.

§ Execute the mandate on-site:

ü the installation of monitoring systems and data acquisition units;

ü the validation of calculation;

ü the programming of the systems;

ü the configuration of the communication;

ü the compilation of all information for interpretation;

ü the verification of commissioning and proper use;

ü the transfer of information and training to clients;

ü the administrative documentation (field time sheets and shipping orders).


Technical support


20%

§ Provide technical support to the sales team on:

ü the suggestion of appropriate equipment;

ü the design of monitoring systems;

ü the evaluation of time and material needs.

§ Provide technical support to clients:

ü perform the necessary tests;

ü make diagnosis;

ü search for solutions;

ü support clients remotely in their actions.

§ Provide feedbacks to the:

ü technical team;

ü sales team.

§ Participate in the writing of technical or scientific articles.


End of missions


15%

§ Conclude the execution of the mandates by ensuring to:

ü respect the inventory procedures;

ü keep the tools in good condition;

ü keep vehicles we provide in good conditions;

ü store the equipment in its respective place.

§ Complete and maintain up to date:

ü company job site procedures;

ü time sheets.

§ Complete and verify the accuracy of the documentation associated with job sites:

ü Installation reports;

ü Other reports as specified in the terms of the mandate;

ü Project summaries.

§ Verify the documentation to be done by the technicians:

ü sensors details;

ü details of the configurations;

ü photos and time sheets;

ü instrumentation database.


Mission planning

§ Ensure understanding of the mandate in relation to the service being sold, in particular:

ü the client expectations;

ü the technical design;

ü administrative and commercial constraints.

§ Prepare the execution of missions with the team by assessing:

ü health, safety and environmental challenges;

ü the required knowledge;

ü the material needs;

ü logistical and cost constraints.


R&D


5%

§ Participate in the testing and validation of new instruments and designs:

ü Suggest realistic test environments;

ü Implement devices and designs.

§ Document testing for related tax credits:

ü compile photos, notes and results;

ü maintain up to date time sheets.

Ø Methods, plans and control mechanisms are applied according to expected standards.

Ø The employee is mobile, able to work, perform in cold, wet, hot conditions or prolonged periods of time, without the possibility of moving or at a height (sitting, standing, squatting).

Ø Names of new customer contacts are added on a regular basis.

Qualifications:


Required education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining, civil geological engineering or other relevant field
  • ASP Certification (for Quebec job)


Required knowledge and experience :

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience in instrumentation, automatization et telecommunications
  • Specific knowledge in the field of geotechnical instrumentation
  • Geotechnical drilling supervision and logging.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and programming
  • Basic knowledge in RS232/485/SDi-12/Wi-Fi/Radio
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Fluency in French, both written and spoken (for Quebec job) and in English (for the other provinces’ job)
  • Good knowledge in English (for Quebec job)
