Technical Project Manager (REMOTE)

Actalent is looking for a Technical Project Manager to help support one of our largest automotive clients here in Ottawa. This will be a 12-month contract with the possibility of an extension. This role has the possibility to be fully remote.

Description:
Our client is responsible for the software infrastructure that includes the hardware platform and complex software for networking, security, power management, and other vital functional components.

Working as an Agile Project Manager within the software development team, the successful candidate will be involved in working with the project lead and program management team in planning work, managing the day-to-day deliverables, and providing the necessary visibility about the status of activities within the gateway software project.

Primary responsibilities will include sprint planning, requirements and workload tracking, defect management and release management activities. The successful candidate will collaborate with the engineering development teams, test groups, content planning teams, and overall program management. The requirement is to drive quality and quantity work from a large SW group driven by clear goals, using Agile metrics and tools.

This position will provide the candidate with the unique opportunity to gain experience within a large engineering organization responsible to develop software and services with an industry leader.

The Project manager in this role will understand technical sales, and have interaction with multiple teams to coordinate activities related to the project on hand.

Responsibilities:

• Own requirements tracking, help with work planning, defects management and overall Agile process dictated project management

activities.

• Develop project plans.
• Track engineering deliverables.
• Work with partner teams in hardware, design and end-to-end system verification, as well as external partners and suppliers.
• Generate updates and reports to management, providing dashboards that reflect project health and permit trend analysis and modeling of mid to long term deliverables completion.
• Manage risks and work with key stakeholders to drive mitigation plans

Top Skills:
MUST HAVES

• 2-10 years of hands-on experience managing projects in

large scale embedded Software development environments.

• JIRA
• Software Development in Agile Methodology
• Software Release Experience

NICE TO HAVES

• Telecommunications experience
• Strong knowledge of requirements analysis and workload tracking

tools and methods.

• Excellent knowledge of Sprint Planning and Scrum Master roles.
• Excellent knowledge in creating dashboards, reports and relevant charts indicating project status.
• Microsoft Project expert knowledge is a must.
• Methodical and capable of prioritizing work and working to tight deadlines.
• An excellent communicator, both oral and written.
