Provisioning Network Engineer

This Network Engineer position will be responsible for performing market provisioning, implementation, and operational activities supporting the Southeast of a large telecom provider of enterprise fiber services. The engineers will integrate with the existing network engineering team and be assigned multiple projects to handle from start to finish. These projects will range in scale, but will require coordinating with boundary partners such as network design, project management, change management, and inside plant technicians. The work will require tracing out existing services across the enterprise network, validating the inventory tool, planning for changes, and configuring live services on a live network. Extra care and mistake mitigation must be implemented to ensure no unplanned outages for the end users of the network.

Qualifications:

• Prior telecom carrier experience configuring equipment on a LIVE network
• Carrier experience building, provisioning and troubleshooting customer circuits
• Hands-on experience with Juniper and Cisco – deployment a plus
• Ethernet/switch/routing
• Juniper Certification/Experience JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIE
• Cisco Certification/Experience CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
• Provisioning/Network Configuration
• Layer 1/Physical Fiber Cabling Experience in a Datacenter
• Strong knowledge of IP routing, MPLS, VLANs, internetworking protocols·
• Experience with optical transport networks
• Experience with DIA – Routed, LAN or BGP
• Experience with ELINE – On Net or Off Net
• Experience with ELAN, PRI/SIP
• Experience with Carrier E-Access or E-Transport
• Granite
• JIRA
• Salesforce
• MEF Certification/Familiarity
