Valo Networks is a Corporation striving to build and develop Fiber to the Home Networks and Services to mostly rural Canadian residents.
We are adding to our construction team to support long term projects in the Calgary and surrounding area and are looking for local talent, eager to lead and apply their skills at Telecom construction.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Plan and oversee in field project staff with the guidance and support of our Construction Manager
- Provide training and supervision to ensure in-field quality, providing leadership to on-site, sub-contractors, and other parties.
- Ensure all safety requirements are maintained on-site through a sound understanding of safety systems for a construction site.
- Provide updates and maintain consistent communication with the Construction Manager on project progress and any site related issues.
- Assisting with inventory management and jobsite housekeeping. We are an “all hands on deck” kind of team and are looking for others that don’t mind jumping in when/where needed.
ABOUT YOU
- 3+ Years experience in Telecom Construction, preferably within fiber installation
- Proficient with FTTP, IX and mainline construction methods and supervision
- Safety conscious and organization skills required
- Capable of working with and directing crew
- Proficient in Alberta 1 call program
- Public interaction skills
- Ability to multi-task and think outside the box
- Understanding of equipment, maintenance and in-field troubleshooting
- Drivers license and clean drivers abstract are required. Class 1 or Class 3 are an asset
- Experience with rubber tire backhoe and/or directional drilling/locating an asset
