Fiber Optic Technician

Skills required:

• Reliability and dedication.
• Termination, splicing, troubleshooting, and testing of fiber-optic cables.
• Knowledge and experience with OTDR testing.
• Knowledge and experience with a variety of connector types.
• Troubleshooting faults and defects in fiber-optic cables.
• Comfortable and willing to work outdoors in various conditions and environments.
• Comfortable working in manholes and utility buildings.
• Familiar with various types of fiber patch panels, pigtails, patch cords, splice boxes, and connector ends.
• Familiar with different types of fiber cables and specifications.
• Knowledge of connecting fiber to network switches/routers.
• Experience with, and willingness to mount hardware and use power tools.
• Clean driver abstract and willingness (if needed) to provide a clean criminal record check.
• Communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently without supervision.
• Willingness to travel to rural locations in British Columbia for an extended period.

Can start immediately.

Full Time

$30/hr to $45/hr depending on experience.

MUST be willing to travel to rural areas of British Columbia.
