Our Exciting Opportunity:
We are now looking for a Emergency Manager responsible for preventing (or minimizing impact of unavoidable) reoccurring incidents, by investigating/selecting possible reoccurring incidents, classification of problems, working out and distribution of preventive actions, and tracking of those actions (or a subset of these activities).
During an emergency event Emergency Management, you will be responsible to lead a team of experts and drive them towards an effective recovery of the service during an emergency including clear and concise communication of e.g. action plan to customer and other stakeholders.
Purpose of Job Role
Working as part of our Real Times Operations and Availability Management team you will be responsible for achieving the required Network availability levels within the Emergency Services and Commercial 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G Operator Networks.
The Availability manager will ensure accurate actions are being undertaken to restore service based on risk to the relevant county or regional critical metrics.
Whilst the role is focused on real time operations of the network you will support problem management in identification of risk to service and recommendations to drive improvements in stability and performance.
This role is shift based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the network is available for customers and delivering required availability levels
- Support and guide Incident Management teams in management of fault related incidents ensuring clear action plans are in place
- Motivating changes in order in which tasks are undertaken by the repair agencies.
- Planning deployment of temporary assets.
- Defining and highlighting risks to the stability of county, regional and national availability levels
- Ensuring correct engagement with technical and problem management teams.
- Evaluation of Change Events and attendance of Change Advisory Board meetings reviewing Forward Schedule of Change
- Supporting weekly and monthly performance reviews. Providing clear insight to performance and highlighting any issues which have had a negative impact on the customer.
- Providing direct point of contact for Customer Operations Centre teams in relation to specific issues affecting the ESN service.
Key Qualifications:
- Education: BTEC/HNC within Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Min 2 years experience within an Ops environment.
- Mobile Ran & Core experience
Additional Requirements:
- People skills with ability to co-ordinate and facilitate teams at a local and global level.
- Good time management, planning and organisation skills, and an ability to review and adapt based on changing operational environment.
- Experience working within a customer led environment, handling customer expectations and building/maintaining key relationships
