Hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Hourly rate listed of $28.94-$32.15 is the -22 rate. Effective 1, 2022, the hourly rate will increase to $30.97-$34.39.

JOB TITLE: Service Support Technician
CLASSIFICATION: Data Processing – MACP
DEPARTMENT: Technology Services Department
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology Integration
JOB SUMMARY:
The Service Support Technician provides district technology support within the schools and the District Office, including technical and operational support on various applications, hardware, network and telecommunications systems and basic desktop support.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor work orders and resolve routine technical incidents where the resolution is straightforward and within the Service Support Technician authority.
- Support buildings in the absence of a technician to service critical repairs and maintain technology support.
- Complete various tasks in the technology warehouse including inventory, shipping and receiving, organization, and unpacking of products.
- Provide various technical support for Windows computers, Chromebook computers, Network LaserJet and other printers, as well as other devices as assigned.
- Install and support approved computer peripherals.
- Provide telephone support to users of district’s computer systems and other technology.
- Support district media for trainings, interviews, and meetings.
- Confirm closure of resolved incidents with the user.
- Provide support to computer specialists and other staff in resolving problems with software and desktop applications. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
- Interact with teachers and other district staff, for new software evaluation, installation and testing, documentation, and implementation planning.
- Log incidents and requests into work order system with the appropriate level of detail to build the knowledge base.
- Categorize and prioritize incidents and requests for future analysis and completion.
- Coordinate regular and periodic processes to support district fiscal, library, and student information systems.
- Assist with various clerical tasks, including, but not limited to filing, making copies, taking messages, drafting documents, etc.
- Provide backup support to receiving packages, and mail, when needed or assigned.
- Comply with district policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regularly work assigned hours.
- Ability to demonstrate effective cross-cultural communication skills and culturally responsive practices.
- Ability to identify and address personal, cultural, and institutional bias.
- Possession of a valid Washington Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work a flexible/irregular schedule as needed.
Education:
- High school graduation or its equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with school district information systems and processes
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Windows; Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; electronic Student Information Systems (SIS); Google Applications, and automated library systems.
- Experience in computer system operations, including managing and loading printers, diagnosing trouble calls, resetting passwords and maintaining user accounts, and managing other system processes as assigned.
- Some college course work and/or other technical certifications in the area of computer information systems and/or Microsoft Office/Google applications.
- ITIL Foundation Certification (or agree to complete within first year of employment).
