Network Migration Engineer

Shift: 10:00pm – 6:00am PST

Primary Responsibilities:

• Device deployment/migration away from legacy Cisco infrastructure to new Juniper infrastructure.

• BAU customer migrations.

• Provisioning, or general Network operations focusing on a large enterprise network with mixed vendors.

• Experience with Junos, Cisco, Adva, and other device configuration work
• The rest of the secretarial duties from scheduling and engaging different groups are already well documented and laid out in processes that can be easily followed so that can be considered tertiary.

• Remedy ticketing system.
• Provisioning and configuration research heavy project

Currently the landscape for this project is focused around the current customer and device deployment/migration away from legacy Cisco infrastructure to new Juniper infrastructure.

• The candidates that we should be exploring for this position should be highly skilled in either provisioning, or general Network operations focusing on a large enterprise network with mixed vendors.
• Experience with Junos, Cisco, Adva, and other device configuration work should be considered priority as all the rest of the secretarial duties from scheduling and engaging different groups are already well documented and laid out in processes that can be easily followed so that can be considered tertiary.
• Remedy system experience will also be helpful. As this is a provisioning and configuration research heavy project and these candidates should possess real world knowledge and experience.
• Basic duties that will be expected of them. I.E. configuring a juniper/ Cisco/ or adva in a small lab environment for IP and vlan based connectivity while also understanding how the layer 1 uplinks and device physical pathway are laid out in the devices.
• An understanding of fiber light levels/ wavelengths and physical port configuration/negotiation will also be key.
