Business Development Specialist Job Description

Title: Business Development Specialist

Purpose: Support Managed Services Business

Company Information

SimplicIT Technical Solutions is a branch of TruLeap Technologies. While SimplicIT has been in business since June of 2015, it was created as part of a business that has over 100 years of experience in the technology and communications sector.

TruLeap saw a need for an established local company providing responsive managed services. Out of this need, SimplicIT Technical Solutions was formed. SimplicIT takes the same technical expertise and processes from TruLeap and extends them to businesses and schools to Southern Idaho and beyond.

Overall Position Description

As a Business Development Specialist, you will work closely with customers to promote the sale of products and services offered by our company. Primarily sells managed service solutions to commercial customers but may sell more complex telecommunications equipment. Researches and determines likely customers for equipment and services. Responds to inquiries. Informs and educates potential customers of services available. May assist with general marketing activities.

Key Job Tasks

Overall Duties Include:

o Close and grow sales with potential clients in our marketplace.

o Manage and interpret customer requirements.

o Communicate sales or service opportunities and customer concerns or suggestions.

o Identify and resolve customer concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.

o Coordinates company staff to provide exemplary service to customers.

o Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively.

o Work with the engineering team to ensure customer project requirements are met.

o Maintaining records of customer communications and contact information as required within CRM

o Making technical presentations to Decision Makers and Prospective Buyers

o Preparing responses to RFP (request for proposals) and RFI (request for information)

o Attending and participating in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events

o Maintain awareness of pertinent client information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any client information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed

o Research market requirements and market data

o Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies

o Demonstrate and explain best practices in installation techniques for all company products

o Submit a variety of sales status reports as required, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals

o Submit prospective customer engagement plans, schedule client meetings and action plans for follow-up

o Is chiefly responsible for setting the customer’s expectations, for any sold product and service

o May assist with general marketing activities.

o Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

o Knowledge of managed service, telecommunications technology, products and services.

o Knowledge of company policies and procedures.

o Knowledge of company products and services.

o Knowledge of marketing and sales practices and principles.

o Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, various software programs and telephone systems.

o Skill in oral and written communication.

o Skill in persuasion techniques.

o Skill in negotiating.

o Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.

o Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.

o Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.

o Ability to successfully complete company training and 60-day road map.

Approximate Time allocation

o Training 20%

o Sales 40%

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
