Telecommunications Engineer

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to sit out of their headquarters in Mason, Michigan! The Telecommunications Engineer will be joining the Network team and will be responsible for maintaining the clients Telecom environment and help drive new change, updates, and assist with the overall direction of the companies Telephony infrastructure. Daily tasks include but are not limited to:

• Responding maintaining helpdesk requests
• Project work: working on plant refreshes, taking out old PBX systems and replacing them
• Implementing Teams and Oracle environments
• Troubleshooting, being able to identify, diagnose and correct issues in the current Telephony environment
• Working with internal teams to identify what they require and be able to design those needs from the customer (internal)
• MACwork (moves adds changes)
• Asset tracking tasks: licensing, documentation, what components of their system are in their environment, what to add, what to decommission, understanding what makes up the system and manage that

Must Haves:

• Bachelors degree Required (or 3+ years of equivalent experience)
• 4-6 years of managing enterprise Cisco UC Clusters
• 3 years of trunk technologies including SIP (used to be TRI) or other telecommunication routing
• 3 years of Telecom infrastructure – the chassys that connect them (servers, BMs, Vcenter (management to running virtual environments), ISR routers, voice gateways (PG X series)
• Experience with Cisco, Avaya (primarily Cisco based telephony)

o Must have used Cisco Unity or CUCM Cisco Unified Communications Manager

• Working knowledge of Telecom regulations in US
