LOCATION: Various locations in California

Consolidated Networks Corporation (CNC) is hiring a Journeyman Communication Installer and Technician supporting state and local communication infrastructure modernization projects in California. This Ad is intended for Telecommunication Technicians and Installers that have graduated from a State Approved Apprenticeship program and have an Active Journeyman License. The work CNC performs is mostly Prevailing Wage and follows all Division of Industrial Relations rules and regulations.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Under the State of California labor laws, we must have a skilled and trained work force.

· Graduate of a State or Union Approved Apprenticeship Program

· Active Journeyman status

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

· Willingness to work shifts as assigned, including daily overtime when necessary;

· Must have a valid California driver’s license;

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen;

· Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR 6 TO 8 HOURS A DAY:

· Able to perform work tasks in extreme temperatures and climates;

· Able to perform physical tasks for the entire assigned work shift;

· Able to perform repetitive movements;

· Climbing up / down ladders;

· Standing / Walking;

· Bending / Stooping.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate will be required to follow industry standards and coordinate with the CNC Superintendent and other Lead Technicians. A Communication Installer will install Communications equipment and Audio-Video Systems to include establishing cable pathways; running, pulling, and terminating cables; labeling; installing telecom/AV equipment, installing racks, cable trays; install Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices such as access points and VoIP phones; tests all connections.

Daily work assignments may also include the following:

· Use of tools such as drills, saws, wire cutters, punch downs, and special tools for installing communication infrastructure.

· Maintain, install, de-install, move, remove, and test copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cable.

· Install communication closet equipment such as racks, cable trays, conduit, and cables.

· Inspects and performs routine maintenance in manholes, such as draining water. Assists with repair, securing, and replacement of all cable-related defects within manholes.

· Inspects pedestals, handholes, and other outside plant infrastructure. Reports deficiencies and makes repairs as necessary or escalates as needed.

· Documents network by labeling equipment and cables.

Pay: $30.00 – $50.00 per hour
