Aerial Telecom Lineman

Pickard Construction is a privately owned company with multiple offices across Ontario. We specialize in utility construction both underground & aerial in the communication and electrical fields. We offer a wide range of service in these fields including but not limited to Directional drilling, Plowing, Line construction, Rock drilling and Fibre splicing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate vehicle-mounted aerial devices equipment

• Preform aerial telecom construction including

o Placement of poles and anchor

o Placement of strand

o Lashing cable

o Transferring telecom plant for old pole to new pole

• Climbing of poles with spurs or ladder

• Completing construction as per design laid out on plans

• Placement of underground cable in duct

• Completion of daily job specific paper work

• Organization of work operations to ensure safety of yourself and people and pedestaling around work area

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in aerial line construction

• Valid AZ Driver’s License (with a clean abstract)

• Up to date Working at Heights training

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with aerial devices

Skills:

• A strong communicator, both in writing and spoken communication

• Organized, a self-starter and highly safety oriented

• Strong ability to read and understand plans
