Field Service Electrician

Commercial Electric Service and Small Project Technician – Job Type: Full-time

Grid Electric and Solar, a leading electrical contractor in the construction industry is seeking Service Electrician with strong experience to join our team.

We are a full service Electrical Contractor and also install Commercial Solar PV Systems. Solar PV experience isn’t a requirement but is a plus.

The Service Technician will be responsible for but not limited to, performing all phases of Electric Service Work and Small Project assignments and associated paperwork.

Requirements:

• Must have (5) plus years’ experience as an electrical foreman or Service Technician
• Must be able to work well with Customer, GC’s and other trades
• Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• Experience managing electrical projects and service electric work
• Commercial electrical experience required
• Must be able to work on voltages up to 480V and solar PV voltages up to 1000 VDC a plus
• Bending RMC, IMC, and EMT conduit
• Telecommunication and fire alarm experience is a plus
• Experience running a boom lift
• Troubleshooting electrical systems
• Establish high performance, quality standards along with project goals and monitor success in reaching those goals on an ongoing basis
• Ensure the proper safety equipment is used
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical plans and specifications
• Ability to conduct self in a professional manner and represent the company image under stressful situations
• Must have a positive attitude
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Must adhere to safety policy and procedures
• Capable of working in a team environment
• Must have own basic hand tools and cordless drill (all other tools provided by Grid)
• Demonstrated leadership for job success

We are a Contractor Member of the Independent Electrical Contractors Association(South Central PA Chapter) with a company paid 4 year Electrical Apprentice Program.

This is primarily day work and local. There will be occasional weekend work, evening work, night work and overtime. Any weekend, evening or night work is always time and a half pay regardless of whether you have 40 hours or not.

We do occasionally have work/projects we consider out of town where the project is a bit too far to drive daily. In those cases employees are compensated with perdiem, some travel hours and a company paid hotel, etc… Our out of town work are short term projects and are occasional, not regular.

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
