Wicked Fast Internet, a Park City based company, is expanding and is seeking a Network Operations Technician to take our team to the next level. The NOC Technician will assist in diagnosing and resolving issues, monitor network, maintain and repair routers, firewalls, and switches through troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills on a daily basis.
NOC Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and Troubleshoot Network field incoming calls, help clients troubleshoot networking issues, diagnose network problems, and provide resolutions, answer client questions regarding network operations
- Provide Preventative Maintenance of Network Equipment oversee the preventative maintenance of all networking equipment, repair, replace and configure new equipment, run tests, backup processes and perform upgrades to hardware and software to make sure networks run with no interruption due to failures or outages as directed by CTO
- Assist Field Technicians over the phone to address networking issues on-site by relaying details about network issues to field technicians to work on equipment
- Assist Customers over the phone and, at times, in person to resolve issues
- Document all Calls and Service Requests, maintain logs of resolutions, communicate with vendors about ongoing problems, and use internal ticketing system to update information regarding the progress of each call
- Other duties as assigned
NOC Technician Skills and Qualifications
- Familiarity with networking technology, home routers and basic network understanding
- Computer skills and knowledge of computer operating systems, databases, and wireless technologies
- Customer service to resolve customer networking issues in a professional, timely and successful manner
- Troubleshooting to determine the cause of network issues and to provide effective resolutions
- Professional verbal and written communication is essential for conversing with other technicians, clients, vendors, and managers
- Documentation skills that include thorough details and organized
- Desire to learn and work history and education reflecting the continued desire to further knowledge
NOC Technician Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, network engineering or information technology preferred OR sufficient prior work experience
- Familiarity on local area and wireless networks, network protocols, data storage, software engineering, telecommunications, and data communications
- Professional preferred
- IPv4 Cisco professional level or above, or equivalent certification or knowledge
- Basic RF understanding including signal strengths, channels, data rates and other variables

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
