Northern Pride Communications is looking for motivated and experienced Crew Chiefs to join our telecommunications team. We work nationally for the cellular, broadcast, military and public safety sectors. The Crew Chief position is a working foreman that performs all related duties and manages the work of a tower site services crew. This position requires a working knowledge of telecom services including but not limited to tower erection, installation of telecom equipment/components, conducting tower inspections, tower maintenance, troubleshooting and tower site decommissioning. The Crew Chief must have strong leadership skills and is required to report to work at our home base in Topsham, Maine.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare for job mobilization – Inventory materials and tools needed and prepare them for transport

Review job with Project Management and checks Crew Chief Package to be sure all needed information has been included

Work collaboratively with Operations Manager to complete each job/project including job documentation in a timely and cost-effective manner

Communicate and collaborate with sub-contractors to minimize the potential for delays in job progress

Responsible for crew safety during travel and on site; conducts onsite daily job hazard analysis and tail gate meetings

Issue job assignments to crew

Provide on-the-job training for new tower techs including basic construction through advanced electronic and technical skills

Responsible for job quality including all installations meeting customer specifications, all test procedures are completed along with required photo documentation

Ensure that photo documentation and test results meet quality standards and are submitted in a timely manner for close out reports

Complete Daily Reports at the end of each work day including the accurate reporting of each crew member’s time worked and submits to payroll prior to deadline

Completes mandatory documentation such as incident reports, accident reports and inspection reports

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Background test, drug screening and DOT physical required

3 Years progressive experience including Tower Tech and leadership positions

Consistent performance and attendance

The ability to work well with a team

Effective communications skills, oral and written

Strong working knowledge of various computer applications and programs, e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel

OSHA 10 & 30 hour training

Knowledge of standard knots and ability to read blueprints, details and specifications required

Knowledge and ability to operate Test Equipment (i.e. RF sweep gear, PIM and Fiber testing)

Use of hand/power tools

Ability to work in all types of weather and environmental conditions

Travel required

Pay: $28.00 – $33.00 per hour
