Telecommunications Technician – Québec

This intervention is part of the project to enhance the technological infrastructure of isolated sites initiated by the justice modernization program. The project involves replacing, installing and upgrading our telecommunications equipment, located in our establishments across Quebec.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of this intervention, the resource will have to work as a technician in telecommunications and will be part of the project team. Its mandate will be:

  • Participate in the validation, installation and configuration of telecommunications equipment (switches, firewalls, remote controls, inverters, etc.) on all our sites;
  • Collaborate with the specialists in place to configure the switches that will be deployed in the various buildings.
  • Follow the instructions given to him to set up and connect the equipment.
  • Participate in the inventory of the contents of telecommunication rooms

Special conditions :

  • Have an excellent knowledge of Cisco products. Knowledge of FortiGate firewalls would be an asset.
  • Be available to travel and lodge at certain Ministry sites according to the needs of the organization;
  • The resource will need to have their security clearance;
  • A large majority of the work will have to be carried out outside normal working hours, i.e. evenings and weekends;
  • Have a valid driver’s license in Quebec;
  • The work will be done face-to-face and his home base will be at 1 rue Notre Dame where he will be assigned an office.
  • 15 days of vacation will be authorized and the dates must be authorized by the project manager.
