Description:

Job Description: NOC Technician (must be open to second or third shift). As part of the Network Operations team, you will be responsible for providing 24×7 monitoring of all components of Inteliquent’s network utilizing various network monitoring systems and direct access to switches, DACS, routers, and other network elements. Technicians are alerted to and must act upon any alarm conditions. What You’ll Do: • Follow Standard Operating Procedures in order to perform routine network changes, migrations, and maintenance in various network elements upon management request • Identify, troubleshoot and solve network related issues and problems efficiently utilizing monitoring tools, reference materials and other team members for guidance • Open trouble tickets and follow up on network/customer issues per Inteliquent procedures and complete applicable paperwork in a timely manner • Foster an environment of knowledge sharing and interface positively with peers, other departments, carriers, and customers to identify operational issues and provide efficient corrective actions in a geographically dispersed team environment • Accept on-call responsibilities on a rotating schedule with other technicians • Be available for overtime work assignments when requested • NOC Technicians may be responsible for other tasks and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management • Some required travel related to training, meeting and service coverage issues Education & Experience: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred • Strong PC, UNIX OS and application skills with fundamental knowledge of basic networking principles including • Strong problem solving and analytic skills Attributes: • Exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness • Excellent organizational skills with frequent multi-tasking abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven documentation skills with consistent accuracy of details • Superior customer service skills • Self-starter with a high energy level

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Shift Flexibility: Typically support one of the below shifts, need to be open to either as they can sometimes change although they try to avoid that. Days are normally Sun – Thurs. or Tues. through Sat. 1. 7am – 3:30pm central time – 30 minute lunch, 2. 3pm-11:30pm – 8am central time, 30 minutes for lunch 3. 11pm – 7:30am central time, 30 minutes for lunch Must be open to weekends. Weekend – usually a 8 hour day. Most shifts are Sun – thurs, or Tues – Sat.
