What You’ll Be In Charge Of

To bring the company forward in its ambition to serve the whole of the market, we are looking for a Legal Counsel who loves contracting, with a focus on all aspects of doing business with consumers. This includes drafting contracts, but also being part of the development of new consumer propositions, new consumer activation programs, and consumer retention strategies. You will support with making our legal team and work scalable, creating guidance for the business, designing and embedding legal processes to automate and standardise legal support in your focus area will be part of your role as well.

You will need the ability not only to analyse different legal matters, but also to translate it into practical advice for the business taking into account our company strategy. You therefore need to be able to act as a team player within our legal team, but moreover as a teamplayer in the business. You feel at ease and do not mind being flexible in a professional, inspiring, rapidly changing environment, with creative people.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 to 5 years of working experience as a qualified lawyer with a good understanding of (international) commercial law and e-commerce laws. Experience as in-house legal counsel in a fast-growing business environment is considered a plus, but not a requirement. Experience with or interest in IT law, data privacy law, or payment services is a plus. The candidate has proven communication skills with respect to various stakeholders, both in writing and verbally. English language (both spoken and written) is key.

The role…

• Provide accurate and timely advice to the business on commercial sales to consumers, general terms, and other legal documents
• Guide the business when exploring new markets, new propositions, new products and services for consumers, without fixed checklists and templates in place
• Draft and review internal guidance and policies to ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements, as well as the guidelines of our shareholder (Shell)
• Drafting and negotiating template agreements, external policies, or materials with a focus on e-commerce law, indirect sales propositions, and consumer marketing initiatives
• Drafting and embedding standardised processes for the business
