OSP Engineer

Job Summary/Company:

A Sparks Group Partner is seeking an OSP Engineer to oversee daily field operations. Join one of the fastest growing full-service solutions for cable providers looking to upgrade their network. Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily field pre-construction, safety huddles, assign work assignments based on skill sets, motivate, monitor staff utilization of time
• Track attendance and punctuality for field staff
• Monitor system job status, ensure jobs are closed and billing is accurate
• Ensure consumables are readily in stock, order parts from the warehouse to meet job deadlines
• Make sure permits are pulled and on splicer vehicles as required by the city and county inspectors
• Flag notification for daily activities, both the day of and prior to job site readiness
• Assess Field Quality Control of workmanship and provide feedback to staff
• Collaborate with the fiber team and address any fiber continuity issues
• Provide support with field splicing of coax plant as needed
• Identify training needs and gaps based on new hire training assessments
• Provide training on meters and other test equipment

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• 2-5 years of experience in the CATV industry
• Ability to troubleshoot complex RF issues
• Ability to read and understand CATV system blueprints
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, etc.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Travel: from 50% and up to 75%, outside of the state of hire to support operations
