This job role be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. The current expectation is 3 days a week in the office and 2 days working from home.

Job description

The Command and Control (C2) Systems Desk Officer is responsible for ensuring the C2 requirements of the Joint User are represented in current and future Defence projects. They work with a wide range of stakeholders within and outside of Defence in order to progress C2 developments and play a key role in the delivery and in-service management of C2 related capabilities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordinate the CIWG/CAWG for assigned C2 projects.
  • Act as a single point of contact for queries, developing and maintaining the network of stakeholders, contacts and experts both within and outside of Defence.
  • The Desk level lead for Interoperability Services, HYPERION Programme. Also provide support to the wider C2 programmes including SIPR and OpNET.
  • Contribute to current and future access to interoperability Services across FLCs, Joint Ops, NATO and other Multinational domains.
  • Staff papers, briefings and presentations on C2 capabilities for decision at 1* level and above.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for status of Programmes Acquiring C2 systems.
  • Propose capability changes for assigned C2 projects (including changes to Concepts/Doctrine/TTPs).
  • Contribute to the development of Concepts, Doctrine and TTPs across C2 Systems subject field.

Qualifications

Level 3 qualification in an Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering Discipline or appropriate equivalent.
