Position Overview

The Senior Telecommunications Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide maintenance and installation for Clear Connection, Inc. Telecommunications products, and services systems, such as Mitel Systems 3300 Product Suite, Avaya telecommunications systems, such as Avaya IP Office Suite, NEC Suite, Elite, IPK, IPK II, SV8100, SV8300, SV8500, SV9100, SV9300 and associated peripheral equipment. Certification in one or more of these systems is preferable. The technician will provide senior level technical service coverage at our customer site(s). The Senior technician will also be responsible for Layer 3 and Layer 3 network configuration programming, trouble shooting, installation and maintenance. This position would be primarily Mitel.

Responsibilities

Administration

· Program system configurations of PBX/ Servers.

· Program sets (digital/IP and analog ports, software translations).

· Hardware/software upgrades/Firmware

· Conduct regularly scheduled backups and tape/disk rotation.

· Document Preventative Maintenance routine.

· Ability to update all ticketing, dispatch, and project tracking tools daily.

Moves, Additions and Changes

· Program system configuration changes, additions, or deletions.

· Add or remove telephones.

· Add, change, or delete software. Program requested feature changes.

· Add or remove PBX/KSU system circuits.

· Add or delete digital or analog PBX/KSU system trunk lines including T1s, VPNs, COs.

· Conduct backup after every change.

Voicemail Support

· Program hardware/software system configurations (Modular Messaging).

· Hardware/software version upgrades.

· Password resets.

· Program feature changes.

· Add or delete user mailboxes.

· Add or delete distribution lists.

Telephones

· Provide break/fix services on telephones.

· Replace telephones.

· Troubleshoot and problems diagnose station cabling.

· Repair/Installation of station cabling and jacks.

· Assist in identification and resolution of other vendor line/circuit problems, reaching a solution.

· Troubleshoot issues related to lines/trunks.

· Coordinate and act as focal point for problem resolution involving service provider.

Network Design And Installation

· Configure/Modify ports on HP ProCurve Switches, ADTran Routers, Sonicwall Firewalls,

· Working knowledge of Routing Protocols, VLANS

· Layer 2/3 Network configuration and troubleshooting

· Server troubleshooting; hardware and software

· Network/Firewall/VPN modifications

· Additional duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Experience

· Education: Minimum of a High school degree.

· Mitel, Avaya, NEC, Tadiran certification preferred.

· Must be able to lift over 50lbs

· Must be able to install Operating Systems on Bare Bones Servers (Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012

Windows Desktops XP, 7, 8, Linux (Cent OS),

· Knowledge of HP ProCurve Switches, ADTran Routers, Sonicwall Firewalls, Routing Protocols, VLANS

· Knowledge of VoIP environment.

· Must possess basic diagnostic skills. Desired candidate should be able to troubleshoot from beginning to end and provide detailed information on resolution.

· Desired candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a team player, self-starter with excellent customer service focus.

· Knowledge of Telecommunications.

· Ability to update all ticketing, dispatch, and project tracking tools daily.

· Valid Driver’s License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
