This Position Qualifies For The Lexington County New Hire Incentive of $5,000.
911 Dispatchers are responsible for processing both emergent and non-emergent phone calls from citizens, responders and other agencies. Interrogating callers to determine what services are needed and what actions need to be taken immediately such as life saving instructions. All must be done in a timely and professional manner. Must be able to maintain appropriate documentation of all calls for service and self initiated unit responses using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and other software tools. Must be able to provide map verification of locations for jurisdiction confirmation. Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Software, Records Management System and Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) interfaces to support law enforcement operations.
May require stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, long periods of sitting, writing, typing, talking, hearing, seeing, manual dexterity and other repetitive motions. Ability to handle multiple calls and radio communications at the same time.
The Lexington County New Hire Incentive is paid in two payments. The first payment of $2,000.00 is paid upon successful completion of the six month probationary period. The second payment of $3,000.00 is paid eighteen months after for a total of $5,000.00.
