Responsibilities

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides work leadership and guidance to the Telecommunications Assistants – Kahi Mohala.
  • Investigates and resolves problems, issues and concerns, and strives for continuous quality improvement in services.
  • Performs duties of a Telecommunications Assistant – Kahi Mohala.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Essential: seeing, hearing, speaking.
  • Frequent: sitting, finger dexterity, gripping of an object.
  • Occasional: walking.
  • Infrequent: climbing stairs, lifting usual weight of 1/2 pound up to 2 pounds, pushing/pulling, carrying usual weight of 1/2 pound up to 3 pounds, twisting body, reaching at and above shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
  • Operates operator console, various communication equipment, computer, telephone.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Subjected to cold temperatures due to computer equipment.
  • Occasionally exposed to irate telephone callers and subjected to possible verbal abuse.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

B. EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years of telecommunications operator experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Prior experience to demonstrate ability to function in lead position preferred.
