Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The Opportunity Scholars Program Retention Specialist provides guidance to undergraduate program participants; leads program retention efforts; teaches University 101; advises first-year students, and assists with course registration processes. In addition, the position assists with orientation activities and develops meaningful and appropriate educational, financial, and career plans for upper-class students.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 3 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The ability to manage complex tasks on schedule, an understanding of educational opportunity programs and issues impacting college access for TRIO-eligible students
